Equipping educators to create meaningful moments of reflection, connection, and expression in classrooms across the country

Teachers across the country are navigating increasing academic demands while also working to build strong classroom communities and support student well-being. Creating intentional time for reflection and connection can be difficult to sustain within already full schedules.

Through the National Educator Network (NEN), Living Record trains and supports educators to implement the Time Capsule experience in their own classrooms. This train-the-trainer model equips teachers with a structured, flexible approach that integrates reflection, creative expression, and discussion into existing classroom practice. In Williamsport, Pennsylvania, teacher Brooke Nenadal brought the experience into her classroom, guiding a group of gifted learners through activities that invited them to reflect on who they are, express what matters to them, and imagine what comes next. In her classroom and others across the network, students create artifacts that capture their thinking, experiences, and hopes for the future. As they share their work, they engage in meaningful conversations with their peers and build a deeper understanding of themselves and one another. For educators, the experience creates a structured way to access student voice and strengthen relationships, while integrating naturally into classroom routines. Reach out to hello@livingrecord.org

Why It Mattered
The model gives educators a practical way to prioritize connection and reflection without stepping outside of their instructional responsibilities. Students experience increased engagement, a stronger sense of self, and more meaningful connections with their peers. Because the model is teacher-led, it can be sustained and expanded across classrooms, schools, and districts, extending the impact beyond a single program.
